Hustle & Muscle (H&M) Mat Club is a FREE youth wrestling club currently operating at American University in Washington, DC. H&M was founded in 2011 to teach boys and girls from ages 6-18 the fundamentals of amateur wrestling in a safe and fun environment. We focus, as much as possible, on small group or one-on-one tutorial coaching (click here to see a list of our coaches). Wrestlers are closely supervised.
We believe youth wrestling helps children develop balance, strength, flexibility, stamina, and self-confidence. As your children grow, the lessons they learn from wrestling will serve them well in any environment – academic, athletic or social – as they mature into young men and women.
We compete as a team in the Montgomery County Youth Wrestling League during the winter season. We also send individual wrestlers to tournaments in the off season. However, competition is optional and members are not required to compete.
H&M Mat Club also seeks to promote wrestling in the city of D.C. and the surrounding metropolitan area. We welcome and encourage relationships with other wrestling clubs, high schools, and universities.
Current Practice Location:
Wrestling Room at American University (in student recreational area in Bender Arena), 4400 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington, DC 20016
